-Amazon has renewed Alpha House for a second season. They have also cancelled Betas and given 6 different pilots series orders. -Michael Chiklis joins the cast of American Horror Story: Freak Show. Chiklis will be playing Evan Peters’ character’s father and Kathy Bates’ ex-husband. Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Basset, and Frances Conroy will all be returning for the fourth season. The new season will be set in Jupiter, Florida, in 1950 and feature Jessica Lange as a German ex-pat managing on of the last freak shows in the U.S. http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/03/28/chiklis-ahs-freak-show/

-Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino (from the hit show Jersey Shore) will be in a new reality show called The Sorrentinos which will air on the TV Guide Network. The show will focus less on partying and more on “The Situation” spending time with his New Jersey family. No premiere date has been set yet. -Nicole Richie’s new show #CandidlyNicole has gotten a series order from VH1 for eight episodes that is supposed to premiere July 17. The show will be based on Richie’s popular AOL online series which was in turn based on Richie’s irreverent Twitter feed. -Showtime has renewed Nurse Jackie for a seventh season. Production is supposed to begin later this year in New York. Peter Facinelli (Dr. Fitch Cooper), however, is not returning for the new season. Defiance premiere, Sharknado 2, Helix renewed, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland cancelled.

SEASON FINALES, March 28 2014:

  • Helix (season 1 finale, 10 pm, Syfy)

-Syfy has announced that the second season of Defiance will premiere Thursday June 19, 8 pm ET. Dominion will premiere right after 9 pm. Syfy has also created a miniseries called Defiance: The Lost Ones which will help bridge the gap between season 1 and season 2. There are 5 installments in the series, with each episode being between 3-5 minutes long. -Brian Baumgartner is guest-starring on The Bridge during the upcoming season 2. He will play Gary, a recovering alcoholic who is the AA sponsor of Daniel Frye. He has only signed on for one episode, but will possibly be a recurring character. -ABC has officially cancelled Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. It will end after the April 3 season ender. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Mind Games, Graceland, and more!

SERIES PREMIERES, March 27, 2014:

  • Surviving Jack (Christopher Meloni) starts at 9:30/8:30c on FOX

-ABC’s Mind Games has been cancelled due to low rating for the past five episodes. For the next two weeks the network will use the Tuesday 10pm time slot to show repeat episodes of Resurrection (which originally airs on Sunday). -The cellist of Coulson’s dreams in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is getting a name (Audrey) and will be played by Amy Acker. She is scheduled to appear in the April 22 episode. -Michelle Borth is apparently leaving Hawaii Five-O. She played Catherine ‘Cat’ Rollins since the first season but she will not be returning for the fifth season of the show. No word on how she is making her exit but the executive producer did the second-to-last episode would feature “some flashbacks to [Catherine’s] stint in the military”. -Carmine Giovinazzo (known for his role as Danny Messer on CSI:NY) will have a recurring role on Graceland. He will play  Sid Markham, the head of the LAPD’s Gang Task Force. Jon Sklaroff (24, Life) will also have a recurring role on the show as a low-life who trade is human trafficking. Graceland is returning to USA this summer for a second season. In the Flesh, Kitchen Nightmares, and Community

SEASON FINALES, March 26 2014!

  • Pysch (Series finale, 9 pm, USA)… SO SAD 😦

  • Broad City (Season 1 finale, 10:30 pm, Comedy Central)

-BBC America has announced that the zombie mini-series In the Flesh is returning May 10th.

-Showtime has ordered a Morgan Spurlock produced show, Seven Deadly Sins, which is a docu-series. He will also host the show.  It will premiere on June 19 at 11pm.

Enlisted and Raising Hope are getting replaced by Kitchen Nightmares starting April 11. FOX is promising that Enlisted will return, no idea when though. It has also been bumped from next week’s episode cause of the hour-long Raising Hope series finale (April 4, 2014).

-Insiders at NBC and Sony are saying that they are optimistic about a final 13-episode season of Community. And are also in talks about a movie. If NBC does not renew the show, Sony said they would shop the final season elsewhere, like Hulu. So hopefully the “six seasons and a movie” actually comes true because the show is amazing and everyone who hasn’t seen it should. CSI, Vikings, American Horror Story: Freak Show, and more!

SEASON FINALES TONIGHT March 25, 2014!

  • Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Season 1 finale, 9:30 pm, FOX)
  • Kroll Show (Season 2 finale, 10:30 pm, Comedy Central)

-Paul Guilfoyle who has played Captain Jim Brass on all 14 seasons of CSI is leaving the show during this season’s finale in May. No word on why he has exited, but it did not sound like it was his decision to leave the show. Also no word on how he will leave the show. The season finale is May 7th. -History has ordered a third season of the hit show Vikings. It has been picked up for a 10 episode third season.  Production for the new season will begin this summer to air in 2015. The season finale for the second season is Thursday May 1. Vikings airs Thursdsays at 10pm ET/PT on History.

-Ryan Murphy has confirmed that the fourth season of American Horror Story will be called American Horror Story: Freak Show and will indeed take place at a carnival. It will be a 13-episode season. -Tessa Ferrer (Leah Murphy on the show) and Gaius Charles (Shane Ross) will not be returning to for new season of Grey’s Anatomy as regulars at least. -Daniel Sharman, who played Isaac, is leaving Teen Wolf. He apparently will not be killed off however, so there could be a chance for him to return in the future. Alice in Arabia axed and Last Comic Standing

-ABC Family is not going through with their new pilot Alice in Arabia anymore after complaints that it relied heavily on stereotypes of Muslims. http://www.buzzfeed.com/regajha/abc-family-kills-alice-in-arabia

-NBC’s Last Comic Standing, which has been on a four year hiatus, has added some new judges to the eighth season premiering this summer, as well as a new host and new format. Roseanne Barr and Keenen Ivory Wayans will serve as celebrity judged on the new season. Russell Peters will join them as well. J.B. Smoove is the new host and Wanda Sykes will serve as an executive producer for the season. The season is consisting of 13 hour-long episodes. The new format includes invitation-only auditions consisting of 100 comedians who will be whittled down to 20. They will compete in semifinal rounds and the Top 10 will move into “challenge rounds” which will test the competitors even more.
