-AT&T has finalized its deal to acquire DirectTV for $48.5 billion. The deal will allow AT&T to boost broadband speeds and expand its high speed broadcast service to customer locations (even rural areas not currently wired) which is to be completed within four years. -Lauren Ambrose has joined USA Network’s Dig, a six-episode event series airing this fall. It centers on Peter Connelly, an FBI agent currently stationed in Jerusalem who, while investigating the murder of an American archeologist, uncovers a conspiracy 2,000 years in the making. Ambrose will play Debbie, a dedicated follower of evangelist Ted Billingham (played by David Costabile) who spends most of her time looking after a fellow disciple, 13-year-old Josh (Zen McGrath) who suddenly disappears which makes Debbie begin to question the beliefs and choices that have led her to where she is. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/six-feet-unders-lauren-ambrose-705909

-Kristen Bell is going to host the 2014 CMT Music Awards by herself after previously hosting with Toby Keith in 2012 and Jason Aldean in 2013. -TNT is developing a spin-off of Major Crimes (which is a spin-off of The Closer). It will focus on franchise vet Jon Tenney’s FBI agent character, Special Agent Fritz Howard. Hey, I’m so sorry I didn’t update yesterday and so late tonight. I had finals yesterday and today and then I was busy earlier. But, now I’m on summer break and so I have much more time! This is going to be a really long post. 

-Damon Wayans Jr. has been promoted to a series regular for season 4 of New Girl. http://www.tvguide.com/News/New-Girl-Damon-Wayans-Jr-Series-Regular-Season4-1081233.aspx

-Billy Eichner will be starring in USA’s Difficult People. The show is about Eichner and Julie Klausner who are frustrated comedians and pop culture-loving best friends living in NYC who hate everyone. Sleepy Hollow has cast Timothy Busfield to play Benjamin Franklin during season 2. In the Flesh, Kitchen Nightmares, and Community

SEASON FINALES, March 26 2014!

  • Pysch (Series finale, 9 pm, USA)… SO SAD 😦
  • Duck Dynasty (Season 5 finale, 10 pm, A&E)
  • Broad City (Season 1 finale, 10:30 pm, Comedy Central)

-BBC America has announced that the zombie mini-series In the Flesh is returning May 10th.

-Showtime has ordered a Morgan Spurlock produced show, Seven Deadly Sins, which is a docu-series. He will also host the show.  It will premiere on June 19 at 11pm.

Enlisted and Raising Hope are getting replaced by Kitchen Nightmares starting April 11. FOX is promising that Enlisted will return, no idea when though. It has also been bumped from next week’s episode cause of the hour-long Raising Hope series finale (April 4, 2014).

-Insiders at NBC and Sony are saying that they are optimistic about a final 13-episode season of Community. And are also in talks about a movie. If NBC does not renew the show, Sony said they would shop the final season elsewhere, like Hulu. So hopefully the “six seasons and a movie” actually comes true because the show is amazing and everyone who hasn’t seen it should.
