-ABC is set to develop an event/limited series of a modern take on Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women. Marvel’s Agent Carter has cast Bridget Regan (Jane the Virgin) as Peggy’s neighbor Dottie, a small-town girl from Iowa who’ll have a huge impact on the life of the titular heroine. -PBS has announced a second-season pickup for ITV’s sitcom Vicious, starring Ian McKellan and Derek Jacobi. -A Limitless TV sequel is in the works at CBS. Gotham is set to add another iconic villain. The show revealed they will add the Scarecrow this season. -Christa B. Allen (Revenge) is set to recur on season 4 of ABC Family’s Baby Daddy. She will play Robyn, a funny, smart, athletic, corporate attorney who works at the law firm with Riley. Riverdale, F is for Family, and Bewitched!

-Courtney Love will be joining the cast of Fox’s midseason drama Empire in a recurring guest star role. She will play Elle Dallas, “a hard rock powerhouse, who is part of Empire Entertainment’s stable of artists.” http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/10/23/courtney-love-drama/

-James Corden will take over The Late Late Show on CBS on March 9, 2015 but apparently a rotating roster of guest hosts will take over the show until then. -Cody Simpson (Australian pop star, teen idol) is joining the cast of Cougar Town for its sixth and final season airing in early 2015, for one episode. -Netflix has greenlighted F is For Family, a six-episode animated series based on the comedy of Bill Burr. The family comedy will debut in 2015. Gotham has cast Morena Baccarin as Dr. Leslie Tompkins, “a gifted and dedicated physician who was a friend of Thomas and Martha Wayne. She is determined to use her skills to aid Gotham’s most in need, which currently means working at the newly opened Arkham Asylum’s House for the Criminally Insane.” The character is from the original comics. -Showtime has found a replacement for Phillip Seymour Hoffman in Happyish, Steve Coogan will now play Thom Payne. It will now go back to the pilot stage and production will begin in New York. Bates Motel has cast Kevin Rahm (Mad Men) for a recurring role during season 3. -The Bewitched follow up series has landed at NBC with a pilot production commitment. The new version is a reimagining of the original series two generation later. CBS Subscription Service, Mission Control, and The Voice

There is so much news! I probably should have done another post earlier in the week but I was so swamped with midterms (since I’m still in college) that I just didn’t have time. This honestly may have to be 3 posts. Let’s get started! 

-CBS is launching its own subscription service for on-demand consumption for its new TV shows as well as their old ones. Since they are not part of Hulu (jointly owned by ABC, NBC, and Fox) they have been out of the subscription service for awhile and have only focused on their website (which I might add, is not very good compared to Hulu). “CBS All Access” will offer thousands of episodes from many of CBS’ current programs, classic series in its library as well as content from its local-TV station, for $5.99 a month. With the service, anyone who wants to watch CBS shows will be able to do so whether or not they subscribe to a programming package from a video distributor (aka a standalone service). http://variety.com/2014/digital/news/cbs-to-launch-svod-all-access-service-with-current-and-classic-programs-1201331028/

-Billy Eichner (Billy on the Street, Parks and Recreation) is coming to New Girl for the holidays! He will guest-star as a Grinch-like character in the Christmas episode. His character, Barry, a beleaguered airline representative the gang encounter at the airport is tired of dealing with holiday travelers and Christmas itself. -NBC has canceled Mission Control before it has even aired. The show was set for a midseason debut and it starred Kristen Ritter. -Archie Panjabi (who plays Kalinda Sharma) will be leaving The Good Wife at the end of this season, after her contract has ended. She did not renew her contract because she is planning on starring in a drama pilot for CBS in the spring. -A Bewitched remake is eyeing a comeback. There is already interest from multiple networks about a remake. American Horror Story has been renewed for season 5 after the fourth season’s premiere broke FX records, with 10 million total views for the season four opener, the most-watched telecast in the network’s history. -Pharrell Williams is set to return for season 8 of The Voice as a coach. Expect multiple guest appearances from various Veronica Mars alums. -Paul Guilfoyle who has played Captain Jim Brass on all 14 seasons of CSI is leaving the show during this season’s finale in May. No word on why he has exited, but it did not sound like it was his decision to leave the show. Also no word on how he will leave the show. The season finale is May 7th. -Ryan Murphy has confirmed that the fourth season of American Horror Story will be called American Horror Story: Freak Show and will indeed take place at a carnival. It will be a 13-episode season. -Tessa Ferrer (Leah Murphy on the show) and Gaius Charles (Shane Ross) will not be returning to for new season of Grey’s Anatomy as regulars at least.
