House of Cards, 12 Monkeys, and Men in Shorts

There is so much news! I probably should have done another post earlier in the week but I was so swamped with midterms (since I’m still in college) that I just didn’t have time. This honestly may have to be 3 posts. This is post 2/3.

-Sam Neill (Merlin, Peaky Blinders) has joined the cast of CBS’ The Dovekeepers, a four hour miniseries, based on the Alice Hoffman’s historical novel about extraordinary women whose lives intersect in a fight for survival at the siege of Masada. He will play Josephus, the somewhat controversial first-century Jewish scholar and historian. The Dovekeepers should premiere on CBS in 2015. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/sam-neill-star-cbs-dovekeepers-740346

-Victor Garber (Alias) has booked a guest-starring gig on CBS’ Blue Bloods. He will appear in the November 21 episode, as Donald Stein, a charismatic scion of a New York real estate dynasty who is also a highly respected Jewish leader. He is deeply disturbed by the recent murders of several prominent Jewish men in the city. Blue Bloods airs Fridays at 10/9c on CBS. http://tvline.com/2014/10/16/blue-bloods-season-5-casts-victor-garber/

Devon Terrell, who is new to the business, will star as Beverly Snow, a young man from Queens who is as talented as he is ambiguous. Steve McQueen (12 Years a Slave) co-wrote the pilot script alongside Matthew Michael Carnahan (World War Z). http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/steve-mcqueen-drama-lands-hbo-740712
