-Damian Lewis is set to star in a new drama series pilot with Paul Giamatti on Showtime. The duo will star in Billions, which explores the world of high finance by following “the approaching collision between two titanic figures — the hard charging, whip-smart U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhodes (Giamatti), the brilliant, ambitious hedge fund king, Bobby “Axe” Axelrod (Lewis).” The show will be filmed in New York in early 2015. http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/10/24/damian-lewis-showtime/

-Charles Dance (Game of Thrones) will star in Syfy’s miniseries Childhood’s End, based on the sci-fi classic by Arthur C. Clarke. The six-hour miniseries follows a breed of aliens called the “Overlords,” who manage to peacefully invade and rule Earth, and create a pseudo-utopia that comes at the price of human identity and culture. -Billy Burke will reprise his role as Phillip Stroh in a wintertime two-parter on TNT’s The Closer. -Kelli Garner (Pan Am, My Generation) is set to star in the title role in Lifetime’s Marilyn. The miniseries is based on J. -The CW is launching a four-part digital series titled The Originals: The Awakening, which will focus on Kol’s (from the show) story. The story will take place in 1914, when Kol was attempting to form an alliance with the witches of the French Quarter. The web series will star Nathaniel Buzolic as Kol, who’s currently being played by Daniel Sharman on the show. -Brian Dennehy (Death of a Salesman, Presumed Innocent) and Neal McDonough (Desperate Housewives, Boomtown) have both booked major recurring roles on TNT’s Public Morals. The show is set in 1967 in New York City’s Public Morals Division, where cops walk the line between morality and criminality as the temptations that come from dealing with all kinds of vice that can get the better of them. Dennehy will play Joseph “Big Red” Patton, a powerful mobster who controls the west side of Manhattan. -Showtime has decided to go straight to series with In The Heat of the Night. The show is described as an exploration of character and race set in modern-day Mississippi. -Amazon has renewed Transparent for a second season after becoming a number one hit on Amazon Prime Instant Video since its launch two weeks ago. The show  is about a transgendered parent, Maura formerly Mort (Jeffrey Tambor), who comes out to the LA family’s adult kids. The second season is slated to hit Amazon in 2015. -Andy Mientus (Smash) has joined The Flash as hearing impaired (and openly gay) DC Comics villian Pied Piper, aka Hartley Hathaway. One of DC’s original rogues, Hartley is a bona fide genius who used to work at S.T.A.R. Labs until a falling out with his mentor, Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh). The particle accelerator robbed Hartley of his hearing, but inspired him to create a series of sonic weapons that he uses in an effort to punish Wells by destroying his new protege: The Flash. -James Patterson’s best-selling book Maximum Ride is getting its own YouTube series. -Neil Patrick Harris (aka Barney Stinson) shot his final scene for How I Met Your Mother yesterday. The first 8 seasons (out of 9) are on Netflix if you want to check them out, it’s a great show! The series finale episode is March 31, 2014.

-Showcase has announced that they will renew Lost Girl for a fifth season consisting of 13 episodes. It’s set to air the new season in Fall 2014. Right now, they are in production. http://www.thetvaddict.com/2014/02/27/lost-girl-renewed-fifth-season/
