New blog post part 2!
-AMC has picked up the UK’s show Humans, a co-production deal between Channel 4 and Xbox Entertainment Studios, but was dropped by Xbox Entertainment Studios over the summer as part of Microsofts’s plan to cut 18,000 jobs. Channel 4 was looking for a U.S. partner and found it in AMC. Production of the sci-fi drama will start this fall for a 2015 premiere. The show is set in a parallel present where the latest must-have gadget for any busy family is a ‘Synth’–a highly-developed robotic servant eerily similar to its live counterpart. In the hope of transforming the way they live, one strained suburban family purchases a refurbished synth only to discover that sharing life with a machine has far-reaching and chilling consequences. The UK show is an adaptation of the Swedish series Real Humans. http://deadline.com/2014/09/humans-amc-channel-4-838483/
