-Ellen Pompeo (Grey’s Anatomy) is set to executive produce a new series Debt, a satire of the 2008 financial meltdown in New York based on Rachel Carey’s 2013 novel of the same name. The project for ABC Family begins a new trend about programs targeted towards older women. The story follows a young woman in her 20s who works as an SAT tutor to pay off her college loans and discovers that everyone she knows is in somebody’s “debt.” The series is in very early pre-production and has not even hired a writer yet. http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/08/01/ellen-pompeo-debt-abc-family-drama/

-Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) will play Deputy Chief Madeline Wuntch as a guest-starring arc on Fox’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine for its second season. Deputy Chief Wuntch is a longtime foil of Andre Braugher’s Captain Holt and she aims to take down the 9-9. Brooklyn Nine-Nine begins its second season on Sunday, September 28 at 8:30/7:30c on Fox. The Walking Dead will return Sunday, October 12 at 9/8c on AMC for its fifth season. Its 16 episodes will be split in half with the first eight episodes premiering in October and the final eight premiering in February 2015. http://www.hitfix.com/news/the-walking-dead-season-5-gets-a-premiere-date

-Mozhan Marno (House of Cards) has been added to The Blacklist’s second season as a series regular. She has been cast as Tamar Katzman, a former Mossad agent and incredibly intuitive spy who goes head to head with Raymond Reddington (James Spader). -Brooklyn Decker (Friends With Better Lives) and Ethan Embry (Once Upon a Time) has been cast as series regulars in Netflix’s newest comedy Grace and Frankie. -TV Land has also ordered Jim Gaffigan’s CBS sitcom, The Gaffigan Show, pilot to series. -Nickelodeon has ordered a live-action comedy 100 Things to Do Before High School to series which will consist of 26 half-hour episodes. 100 Things to Do follows three best friends as they navigate the highs and lows of middle school, with the help of a bucket list of adventures that help them overcome class cliques, terrifying bullies, and clueless teachers. -Nickelodeon is adapting School of Rock for the silver screen! Based of the 2003 Jack Black comedy movie of the same name, the show will follow the misadventures of Dewey Finn, a down-on-his luck musician who fakes his way into a substitute teaching job at a prep school where he shows a group of classically-trained kids the way of Led Zeppelin and AC/DC. The show is on track to air next spring with production beginning in the fall. The cast has yet to be announced but it seems unlikely that Black will return for the show but maybe Miranda Cosgrove will, who played the teacher’s pet, Summer Hathaway, in the movie. http://www.rollingstone.com/tv/news/school-rock-tv-series-headed-nickelodeon-20140805
