The Magic School Bus, The Paula Deen Network, Doctor Who world tour, and more!

I am so sorry I’ve been the worst blogger in the world. I just never want to go on my computer during the summer even though I should update you guysI’ll try to get better! 

The Magic School Bus is coming back to your TV! Netflix and Scholastic Media have teamed up to launch a new CG animated original series, called The Magic School Bus 360°, based on 1990s’ PBS kids TV series. Netflix has ordered 26 episodes of the new series and is set to launch in 2016.

Doctor Who is coming to a city near you (hopefully)! The show is launching a global world tour this summer visiting seven cities across five continents to introduce the 12th Time Lord, Peter Capaldi, to the world. Jenna Coleman and Steven Moffat will also be on this tour. The tour will start in Cardiff, Wales on August 7 and then go to London, Seoul, Sydney, New York, Mexico City, and Rio.

-Comedy Central has renewed Inside Amy ShumerReview, and Trip Tank. All three shows will return with the new episodes sometime next year. The network also added two new shows, Another Period and Idiotsitter, both of which will premiere in 2015. Another Period is about two sisters (Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome) from a wealthy family in Newport, R.I., who “care only about how they look, what parties they attend and becoming famous, which is a lot harder in 1902.” Idiotsitter focuses on the adventures of a straitlaced woman (Charlotte Newhouse) who is tapped to babysit a ridiculously rich “womanchild” (Jillian Bell) who is under house arrest in her father’s mansion.

-MTV has renewed Faking It for a second season. The second season will consist of 10 episodes. No idea when the second season will air.

-Disney is set to launch a new series based off the Lion King called The Lion Guard. The animated series will launch with a TV movie premiering in fall 2015, and a series will follow in early 2016 on both Disney Channel and Disney Junior. The show will follow Kion, the second-born son of Simba and Nala, who leads a group called the Lion Guard that protects the Pride Lands. Mufasa, Timon, Pumbaa, Rafiki, Zazu, and Kion’s older sister Kiara will all make appearances but the Lion Guard will be the main focus of the show.

-Paula Deen is set to launch a new cooking network, The Paula Deen Network, on the web. The paid subscription-based network will launch in September. The program will feature daily shows in an unscripted format with new recipes, episodes, and cooking tools.

-Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s series Power has been renewed by Starz for a second season which will consist of 10 episodes and air in 2015.

-Fox has cancelled I Wanna Marry Harry and Riot. The cancellations are effective immediately and will be replaced by comedy reruns in their respective time slots, starting June 17.  Starting Friday afternoon, any unaired episodes of I Wanna Marry Harry will be made available on, Fox On Demand, FOX NOW, and Hulu.

-ABC Family has ordered Freak Out, a 14-episode half-hour hidden-camera prank show, which will premiere this fall during the network’s annual 13 Nights of Halloween
