-Fox has set an event series based on the Boston Marathon bombings. Rod Lurie is signed on to write and direct. The untitled project will be based on the best-selling book Long Mile Home by Boston Globe reporters Scott Helman and Jenna Russell. I don’t like to put my judgement about TV shows on here but since I am from outside of Boston, go to college in Boston, and know people who were at the finish line last year, I don’t think they should do this but that’s just me.

-Michael McKean is set to co-star in the Breaking Bad prequel series Better Call Saul. He will joing Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks (both from Breaking Bad. respectively Saul and his trusted PI Michael “Mike” Ehrmantraut). McKean will play a new character, Dr. Thurber, a brilliant attorney who is now restricted by an unusual affliction. The series is slated to premiere in November.

-Kristin Chenoweth has joined the Disney Channel Original Movie Descendants as Maleficient. The movie is a live-action adventure comedy about the teenage progeny of Disney’s most iconic villains from films such as 101 Dalmations, Aladdin, and more. It is set to begin production in late May and will premiere on the Disney Channel in 2015.

-Adult Swim has renewed Children’s Hospital for a sixth season. Filming for the new season begins this summer, planned for it to air in 2015. It will also be back in the hospital instead of in Japan where it spent last season.

-Queen Latifah is set to play Blue Icon Bessie Smith in the upcoming untitled film biopic from HBO about her life. No word on premiere dates or anything yet.
